Case Update
Following the defendants not guilty plea, the prosecution counsel asked the court to fix a trial date and to also remand the 1st Defendant in the Correctional Centre, pending trial. However, the defense counsel prayed the court to grant his client bail, to which the prosecution counsel opposed while urging that the defendant should file a formal bail application. After listening to both parties, the trial judge adjourned the matter for the determination of the bail application and ordered the 1st defendant to be remanded in the custody of the EFCC.
