In view of the Defendant's not-guilty plea, the prosecution prayed the court to fix a date for commencement of trial and to also remand the Defendant in the custody of the Nigeria Correctional Service. The defense counsel however, informed the court of a pending bail application on behalf of his client. The trial judge, thereafter, granted the Defendant bail in the sum of N1,000,000.00 and one surety in like sum. The surety must have a landed property in Port Harcourt and must swear to an affidavit of means. He is also to deposit two recent passport photographs with the court. The trial judge ordered that the Defendant be remanded in EFCC custody and adjourned the matter for commencement of trial.
