In view of the defendant’s plea, the trial judge thereafter convicted and sentenced him to three years imprisonment with an option of N500,000.00 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) fine. The judge ordered the convict to forfeit all items recovered from, being proceeds of crime to the Federal government of Nigeria through the EFCC. In addition, the judge ruled that the convict’s bank account used in receiving proceeds of crime, be permanently frozen and monies found therein forfeited to the Federal government of Nigeria.
