Upon the Defendant's guilty-plea, the prosecution counsel urged the court to convict and sentence him accordingly. The defense counsel however, prayed the court to temper justice with mercy, stating that his client was a first time offender and with no previous conviction record, and taking into consideration that the Defendant is an orphan, a married man and a father of a 15-months baby and a bread winner for his family. The trial judge consequently, convicted and sentenced the Defendant to one (1) year imprisonment with an option of N150,000 fine.
