During the course of the trial, the prosecution team called in its witnesses and tendered some documents to prove its case against the Defendant. It was revealed that the Defendant lured some students into believing that the school was partly owned by the Enugu State Government and accredited by the appropriate authorities, following which they paid the sums of N5,000.00 for admission form, N10,000.00 for acceptance fee and N35,000.00 for first semester school fees, before discovering that it was an illegal institution. The trial judge, in his judgement, noted that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and thereafter convicted and sentenced the Defendant to one (1) year imprisonment.
