In view of the defendant’s plea, the trial judge thereafter convicted and sentenced him to six months of community service. The court also ordered the convict to pay the sum of N100,000.00 (One Hundred Thousand Naira) fine, alongside his jail term and “refusal to pay the fine and restitute his victim within four weeks from the judgment date or his six months community service be converted to two years imprisonment”. The convict was also ordered to forfeit all items recovered from him to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
