The Defendants pleaded not guilty to all the counts brought against them and in view of that, their counsels prayed the court to grant them bail on liberal terms. The prosecution counsel, however opposed the bail applications with a counter affidavit to that effect. The trial judge, however granted the 1st Defendant bail in the sum of N2 million, while the 2nd Defendant was granted bail in the sum of N20 million. The Defendants are to provide two sureties each and also to deposit their international passports with the court registry. The trial Judge thereafter adjourned the case for commencement of trial.
